Craftin' it up!: I like making cards

I made two mini cards just for fun for my boyfriend.

I sealed it shut with my saliva HAW HAW HAW :3

Day in a life...: Pizza on Valentine's Day

It was Valentine's Day yesterday and my boyfriend and I collected a few ingredients the night before to make pizza at my house!

My boyfriend has been broke lately but still presented me with this cute little balloon and flowers he had picked from his backyard. It was adorable because he wrapped it in tissue and clingwrap hahaha

And the pizza making begins!
Flour, salt, yeast and water

Left covered for 30 minutes and it has doubled in size!

Right: My boyfriend's pizza base, Left: Mine.
 Yeah I know, mine's cuter.

 First pizza I decorated :D

And out of the oven! YUM

We ended up making 5-6 pizzas but got full after 3 :(

A love heart pizza that my boyfriend had shaped for us to share between each other on Valentine's Day... I lolz at him, cutie patootie.

I haven't checked my mail box in 2 weeks, it was packed with mail! The mailbox is just too far for my little feet to handle...

And here is a picture of my mutated garlics:
They've grown tails after I left them out of the fridge over night...
Seriously reminds me of the (messed up) movie Splice

I hope you all have a lovely day!

Interesting...: A Chinese Wedding Belief

Image and information from Tumblr

I thought this was so sweet :')

Why the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger: The Chinese give a beautiful explanation to this. The thumb represents your parents. Theindex finger represents your siblings. The middle finger represents yourself. The ring finger represents your life partnerThe little finger/pinky represents your children. Hold your hands together like the picture. Join your middle fingers back-to-back, and the remaining fingers tip-to-tip. Now, try to separate your thumbs. They will separate because your parents are not destined to live with you forever. Rejoin your thumbs and separate your index fingers. They will separate because your siblings will have their own families and lead their own lives. Rejoin your index fingers and separate your little fingers/pinkies. They will separate because your children will grow up, get married, and settle down. Rejoin your little fingers/pinkies and try to separate your ring finger. They will not be able to separate because your life partner is meant to be with you throughout your entire life, through thick and thin.

Craftin' it up!: I ♥ My Sewing Machine

Sewing Machines are amazing.

1.
Altered a $5 dress and turned it into a lovely skirt.
It wouldn't zip past my waist since it was too small :(

 Perfect fit and super comfy!

2.
A long sleeved striped $12 shirt I bought a long time ago but have never worn
I forgot to take a picture before I seamed the sides :(
Really comfy material but I need to buy elastic and fix up the band!

What have I achieved so far in the past 3 months... (Jan/2012)

Since I finished my course at tafe in October, I aimed to make the most out of the spare time I've had and do everything I dreamed of!
But progress has been super slow since I had trouble finding affordable items using scrap pieces around my room and buying off eBay...

So so far, I have learnt and achieved the following....

* The basic structure and creating the net for making plushies (post)
- I'm not very good at this still, once I sew the inside, I reverse it and it turns into a completely different shape! :( I don't think I'm looking to improve though... Making plushies are so boring compared to crocheting!
* Knitted a complete scarf! (Using size 10 knitting needles... It still counts!)
* Learnt how to crochet and do basic stitches and understood how it would effect my piece when I use these stitches (double, half, treble, increasing, decreasing and slipstitch)
* Made a dress for my new toy arsy (post)
* Posted my first D.I.Y for creating a plush and a Christmas card (here & here)
* I've semi-learnt how to put together jewelery *yay*... Haven't had much practice yet!
* How to start off a sewing machine- Threading, bobbin stuff and all that jazz.
*Learnt how to cook super duper simple Vietnamese dishes

Yay, I'm satisfied I think

I don't have a picture that relates to this post................
So, yeah....
This is Hello Kitty dressed as Melody.
I got her from a $1 capsule machine in Canada. Soph and I were obsessed with those things! They were unbelievably cheap and had the cutest toys!
